Essential Job Duties: (Included but not limited to)
- Troubleshoot electrical components including alternators, voltage regulators, control panels, circuit breakers, and battery chargers.
- Analyze wiring schematics, blueprints, and single/three-phase electrical diagrams to locate and isolate circuit faults.
- Service Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), paralleling switchgear, and control systems safely near live AC/DC utilities.
- Program digital controllers and link remote surveillance networks to monitoring systems.
- Conduct preventive maintenance by changing oils, coolants, filters, and inspecting critical engine parts.
- Perform load-bank testing to evaluate electrical output, power efficiency, and engine capability under full stress.
- Diagnose fuel systems, including diesel fuel injectors, pumps, and regulators on gas and diesel units.
- Execute system start-ups and commission newly installed assets alongside original equipment manufacturers.
- Explain technical diagnostics and estimated repair windows directly to clients and project managers.
- Maintain vehicle inventory to ensure all essential tools and replacement parts remain stocked for field dispatch.
- Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent apprenticeship.
- Technical degree in electrical systems or power generation technology preferred.
- Must adhere to safety protocol, and work in a drug-free environment.
- Must have 3 – 5 years of experience in the trade you are applying for and have a knowledgeable understanding of the craft work being performed.
- Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards, NFPA 70E electrical safety rules, lock-out/tag-out rules, and learn client and company policy.
- Proficiency with multimeters, megohmmeters, oscilloscopes, and PC-based diagnostic software tools.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and make decisions using FMM's core values of Quality, Teamwork, Integrity, Safety, and Versatility
- Proficient in computer, text, and email skills
- Familiarity with reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a drug and alcohol screening
- Position will require working in all weather (hot/cold muddy) conditions
- High noise environment
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; and working around construction machinery.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Health Insurance-FMM will pay 50% of the employee's premium.
