FMM is seeking a motivated professional to fill our Forklift/Telehandler Operator position. FMM is a maintenance and construction company servicing both residential and commercial clients nationwide.

Job Summary: The Forklift/Telehandler Operator will operate a telehandler and/or forklift on the jobsite to safely lift, move, and transport materials, ensuring loads are secure and within the machine’s capacity. Key responsibilities include performing pre-operation safety checks, coordinating with other workers, maintaining clear work areas, and following all safety regulations. The operator may also be responsible for basic maintenance, record-keeping, and assisting with other tasks when not operating the equipment. 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (included but not limited to)
  • Operate equipment: Safely and efficiently operate telehandlers or forklifts to move materials, such as pallets, bins, and scrap, around a site.
  • Load and unload: Load and unload products and materials from trailers and other vehicles.
  • Stack and store: Stack loads in correct storage bays, following inventory and safety instructions.
  • Pre-operation checks: Perform daily inspections of the machinery to ensure it is in safe working order and report any issues promptly.
  • Safety compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines, including wearing the proper PPE, and follow load capacity charts to prevent accidents.
  • Site coordination: Communicate with supervisors, truck drivers, and other crew members to ensure a smooth and safe workflow.
  • Work area maintenance: Keep traffic lanes and work zones clear and organized.
  • Basic maintenance: Perform routine maintenance like cleaning, fueling, or recharging equipment. 

Required Skills and Abilities:
  • TWIC certification required
  • Must be certified in operating forklifts and telehandlers
  • Good hand-eye coordination and peripheral vision
  • Spatial awareness skills
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to pass a Fit for Duty screening 
  • Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol screening 
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds 
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time 
  • Must be able to reach, bend, and stretch 
  • May be exposed to loud noises, dust, and fumes

Compensation: $28.00 per hour
